Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can this supplied pair reach sixty-five pounds per hand with magnetic selectors and a ten-pound starting selection?
Yes. This exact sixty-five-pound package has a ten-pound minimum and the FAST magnetic-pin mechanism with internal micro weights.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the sixty-five-pound box supply seventy pounds per hand?
No. Seventy pounds requires additional compatible plates; future expansion is separate from the supplied weight.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I select five pounds per hand on this FAST pair?
No. Its minimum handle selection is ten pounds.
Explore this need in the finder →The 65 lb REP × PÉPIN FAST pair brings the heavier FAST mechanism into a smaller supplied package. It is a useful distinction from buying a 60 lb QuickDraw: the FAST starts at ten pounds, uses magnetic selector pins, and has a documented family ceiling of 125 pounds. Choose this package for its present ten-to-sixty-five-pound range and the platform you intend to keep, rather than treating it as the lightest possible adjustable pair.
What the sixty-five-pound package supplies
The current US size selector identifies this pair as DBS-7000-065. Although some of REP’s descriptive paragraphs still list only the older 85, 105 and 125 lb choices, the current assembly manual explicitly includes the 65 lb configuration. Its parts list specifies ten five-pound outer plates, a ten-pound handle and two internal 2.5 lb weights per dumbbell. That reaches 65 pounds per hand when all supplied weights are fitted. The package is a pair with cradles; the floor stand and storage cart are separate purchases.
Sixty-five pounds provides a little more immediate capacity than the pound QuickDraw endpoint, but the different minimum matters more for light exercises. FAST cannot become a five-pound dumbbell merely by removing its micro weights. If your exercise list includes five-pound selections, compare the 60 lb QuickDraw pair before choosing the heavier platform. Conversely, needing seventy pounds now means this particular FAST box is too small, regardless of its eventual expansion capability.
Read the whole weight-change routine
Matching the main selectors at both ends changes the selected outer load in ten-pound jumps. The two supplied internal micro weights provide the intervening balanced five-pound settings: ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, and onward through sixty-five. Those smaller changes require inserting or removing the internal weights; moving a selector alone does not produce every five-pound step.
REP also permits one 2.5 lb micro weight and acknowledges a slight imbalance between the heads. That supplies settings such as 12.5, 22.5 and 32.5 pounds alongside the balanced ladder. It does not create an uninterrupted 2.5 lb progression: there are still gaps between some consecutive supported selections. Keep the main selectors matched even when deliberately using the single internal weight. A buyer who requires equal end loads should use the balanced five-pound ladder and disregard the offset choices.
A level adjustment station is part of the purchase
The controls are magnetic pop-pins on the side rails. Press them out, slide both to the same indicated outer selection, and press them back into place. REP requires full engagement before lifting. This is a different hand movement from turning a handle in a cradle or flipping QuickDraw switches, so consider which routine fits the pace of your workouts.
The nickel-plated, knurled grip is shown as 34 mm in diameter with a 4.9-inch opening on REP’s dimension drawing. The same drawing shows a long storage cradle; it is not a set of separate loaded-body measurements for all four package sizes. In particular, do not assume that buying fewer plates shortens the storage station to the length of a small fixed dumbbell. Leave room to seat the handle, inspect the pins and handle the internal weights.
FAST is designed for flat storage and operation. An angled dumbbell shelf is therefore a poor default location. The metal cradles use protective liners, and their dovetail ends must be positioned for the supplied capacity. The assembly instructions call for aligning the parts before final tightening and checking that the handle moves freely. If selection becomes stiff, use REP’s cradle-alignment instructions rather than forcing a pin.
Expansion, service parts and the better alternative
The current manual shows the same cradle and outer-plate part numbers across 65, 85, 105 and 125 lb configurations. Expansion involves the correct REP × PÉPIN plates and relocating the cradle ends to the corresponding holes. Confirm the exact kit quantity with REP when starting from this newer 65 lb option, because the older add-on sales explanation begins with the 85 lb package. Original PÉPIN components are expressly incompatible with the REP collaboration.
Before using older or uncertain stock, check REP’s current service information. Separate instructions exist for replacement handle selector knobs and for spring pins on the internal micro weights; recipients are told to install the replacement parts before their next workout. These are different parts, and the public documents do not supply a universal retail-box cutoff. Verify the supplied parts with REP and inspect engagement before use. Follow the manual’s direction to avoid drops.
This package suits someone whose present loads fit below sixty-five pounds and who accepts the FAST minimum, grip and pin routine. Buy the 85 lb pair when that extra capacity is already required. Choose QuickDraw for a lighter starting selection, or compare an Ironmaster screw-lock configuration if you prefer changing conventional plates and locking screws to operating selectors.
