A useful fit for

The full documented FAST capacity supplied immediately in a pair of dumbbells with cradles.

The main tradeoff

The loaded dumbbell is listed at 18.3 inches long and starts at ten pounds; no higher FAST capacity stage is documented.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can this supplied pair reach 125 pounds per hand with equal-end gaps no greater than five pounds and no further documented expansion?

Yes. This is the final named FAST stage, with the balanced ten- to 125-pound ladder in five-pound steps.

Is its listed maximum-load dumbbell length no greater than 18.5 inches?

Yes. The current manufacturer overview gives 18.3 inches at the 125-pound maximum, separate from the cradle.

Can I start at five pounds per hand on this full-capacity pair?

No. Adding capacity plates does not reduce the ten-pound handle minimum.

The 125 lb REP × PÉPIN FAST pair supplies this family’s complete documented capacity immediately. It is the relevant choice when you already need more than 105 pounds per hand, rather than merely wanting a handle that could reach that weight after another purchase. Its compact heavy stack comes with conditions: a ten-pound minimum, a level adjustment station, visible pin checks and internal weights for the smaller balanced changes.

What the full package actually contains

The US size is DBS-7000-125, supplied as a pair with cradles. Per dumbbell, the current assembly manual lists a ten-pound handle, twenty-two five-pound outer plates and two 2.5 lb internal micro weights. All fitted together, those parts provide 125 pounds per hand. This is the final named FAST stage; no higher REP × PÉPIN expansion is established by the current manufacturer information.

Compare that ceiling with the work you actually plan to do. If 105 pounds covers it, the 105 lb package leaves one documented twenty-pound-per-hand upgrade available. Buying the full stage now removes that later plate purchase, but it does not make the lowest selection lighter. The minimum is still ten pounds, so a person needing five-pound dumbbells requires a separate solution or a different family.

REP lists an 18.3-inch dumbbell length at the 125 lb maximum. That is useful when judging how a fully loaded pair may fit near your legs or bench, but it is not the storage-cradle length. The factory drawing separately shows an 18.9-inch base. Allow extra working access rather than building a shelf whose internal length exactly equals the lifted dumbbell’s published length.

Full capacity and smaller changes use different actions

The main adjustment uses magnetic pop-pins on the side rails. Move both main selectors to the same indicated outer weight and fully engage them. Paired outer selections change total load in ten-pound jumps. The two internal micro weights create the balanced intermediate settings, providing a complete ten-to-125-pound ladder in five-pound steps.

That five-pound progression is useful, but it is not entirely a selector-only operation. Some adjacent settings require adding or removing the internal weights. REP also allows a single 2.5 lb internal weight, with a small imbalance it describes in the FAQ. This provides offset choices such as 12.5 and 22.5 pounds while the main outer selectors remain matched. It does not establish every 2.5 lb point across the range. If equal end loads are a firm requirement, stay with the five-pound balanced ladder.

The mechanism therefore suits someone willing to inspect visible controls and handle the micro weights as needed. Compare a QuickDraw pair if its lighter starting selection and switch routine fit your work, accepting that the pound version stops at sixty. Compare an Ironmaster 120 lb configuration if you prefer a conventional plate-and-locking-screw routine and that exact ceiling is sufficient.

Plan for a broad grip and flat storage

The factory drawing labels the knurled handle as 34 mm in diameter and the hand opening as 4.9 inches. That grip is wider in diameter than QuickDraw’s listed 32 mm. The side rails and internal micro weights also affect the space around the hand. These differences are worth considering even if the maximum weight is your main reason for shopping.

The system uses steel outer plates, metal cradles, aluminum handle headplates and protective liners. Material choice does not turn the mechanism into maintenance-free equipment. The assembly process positions the cradle dovetails in the holes for 125 pounds, aligns the plate stack and handle, then calls for checking free movement before final tightening. Use REP’s troubleshooting sequence if alignment interferes with selection.

REP specifies flat storage and operation. Do not plan to place the cradles on a sloping rack intended for fixed dumbbells. The dimension drawing’s 5.3-inch base width and 7.2-inch illustrated seated height help explain the storage arrangement, but they should not be treated as verified maximum bare-body dimensions including every projection. The floor stand or cart is separate from the dumbbell package.

Check current pin parts before using uncertain stock

Two distinct official service documents matter for older or uncertain pairs: one replaces the main handle selector knobs, and the other replaces spring pins on the internal micro weights. The respective instructions tell service-kit recipients to fit the replacements before their next workout. They do not establish a complete public serial-number boundary, so confirm the fitted parts with REP rather than deciding from a listing photograph alone.

Always check selector engagement and that the micro weights are secured; do not use damaged or missing parts. Follow the manual’s direction to avoid drops. Original PÉPIN handles and plates are not compatible with this REP collaboration, so check the identity of any second-hand spares too.

Choose the 125 lb pair for a present need for the full documented capacity and a willingness to use its pin-and-micro-weight routine on a level station. Choose a smaller FAST package when it already covers your loads, or a lighter-starting system when ten pounds is too much. The highest ceiling is useful only when the rest of the working range and setup fit.
