A useful fit for

A traditional-profile pair for someone who needs the 90 lb endpoint, five-pound steps and a knurled grip without the curved 1090 shape.

The main tradeoff

The 10 lb minimum rules out lighter starts; BowFlex says its older Media Rack stand does not fit this model.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the traditional Results 90 reach 90 pounds and fit inside an 18-inch listed-length limit?

Yes. The U.S. product page lists a 90-pound maximum and a 17.72-inch full-load length per dumbbell.

Is the Results 90 compatible with the older SelectTech Stand with Media Rack?

No. BowFlex explicitly excludes the Results Series 90 from the Media Rack fit list.

Is 7.5 pounds in the published Results 90 ladder?

No. The Results 90 list begins at 10 pounds.

The BowFlex Results Series 90 is the straight-sided companion to the curved Results Series 1090. Its exact U.S. product listing identifies SKU ZMK4011230 and sells a pair with storage trays. Each dumbbell has 17 listed settings from 10 through 90 pounds, in five-pound steps. The capacity mirrors the 1090, but the traditional uniform-plate profile and stand compatibility are different. That makes the 90 a design and fit choice, not a finish-only 1090.

Know the start as well as the ceiling

The 17 loads are 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85 and 90 pounds per hand. The straightforward five-pound progression reaches a high endpoint, but there is no 5- or 7.5-pound setting and no half-step option. If you need a lighter starting dumbbell for some movements, the Results 552 or 52 starts at 5 pounds and reaches 52.5. If you need 90 pounds now, the smaller pair will not meet that requirement just because the weights can be changed.

The selector is described as a quick adjustment dial; the product page lists secure locking hardware and metal plate components. That does not provide an exact U.S. manual procedure for setting, inspecting or repairing the mechanism. A capacity requirement is supported by the product page’s per-dumbbell settings. If you require an equal-load operating procedure at both ends or exact troubleshooting instructions, consult the supplied manual and manufacturer support rather than assuming the global guide is the matching U.S. document.

Traditional silhouette and listed dimensions

BowFlex describes the 90’s shape as traditional, with uniform plates. The official per-dumbbell dimensions are 17.72 inches long, 9.21 inches wide and 9.05 inches high. They are close to the 1090’s published 17.5-by-9.5-by-10-inch envelope, but the 90 is listed as slightly longer, narrower and lower. Measure the place where the pair will rest and leave room to lift it from the tray; the printed full-load numbers do not establish the clearance at every selector position.

The manufacturer calls the hand grip knurled. That is useful if the grip surface itself matters, but it cannot tell you whether its diameter or texture suits your hand. BowFlex lists three years of parts coverage. Two storage trays are part of the pair; the stand is sold separately. The current product page calls the newer SelectTech Adjustable Dumbbell Stand compatible. The separate support page specifically excludes Results Series 90 from the older Stand with Media Rack, so the older rack is not a safe fit assumption.

Separate Results 90 from legacy 1090 recalls

The current BowFlex recall notice covers earlier BowFlex 552 and 1090 dumbbells and warns that plates may detach. The notice also points to Results Series models as replacement options. This product is the named Results Series 90, U.S. SKU ZMK4011230; that exact listing is separate from an older unit described only as “1090.” For a used pair with an unclear label, mixed pieces or no reliable purchase history, do not use the similar number to declare it current or safe. Follow the official BowFlex and CPSC recall guidance for the unit you actually have.

The available global SelectTech 90 guide matches the general range and rounded dimensions, but it is not explicitly bridged to the U.S. Results SKU. It is therefore not treated here as an exact U.S. instruction document. The product page supports the current identity and published range; it does not resolve every operating and service instruction. Follow the paper or digital document supplied for the exact unit, and stop if a locking or selector problem appears instead of improvising a repair.

Choose it for the straight profile, not just the name

Shortlist the Results 90 when a 10-pound start, five-pound steps, knurled grip and 90-pound endpoint suit your needs, and the longer but lower traditional shape fits your room. Compare the Results 1090 if you already own the BowFlex Media Rack or prefer its curved tapered silhouette; the 1090 is the family’s documented compatible option for that rack. The Results 52 and Results 552 have a lower minimum and smaller capacity, with a different fine-step pattern below 25 pounds. Choose a competitor instead if its documented operating plan or supplied range fits more precisely than this still-unbridged manual documentation.
